Baklosan: instructions for use, side effects, contraindications
The drug "Baklosan" refers to a group of centrally acting muscle relaxants. It is used in the treatment of neurological diseases, accompanied by convulsions, painful spasms, and skeletal muscle tension. A positive effect is observed already on the 5–7th day of taking the medication. The recovery process proceeds faster if drug therapy is supplemented with exercise, massage, and manual therapy.
Release form and trade names
Prescription medication "Baklosan" is available in pill form. The active substance is baclofen. Dosage - 10 and 25 mg. Among the auxiliary components is lactose, so people with allergies to it should refuse to take the drug.

The optimal dosage is considered to be at which excessive myasthenia is not observed and motor functions do not deteriorate. Canceling the drug gradually, reducing the dose within 1-2 weeks.
Side effects from taking "Baklosan" appear (maximum) in 10% of patients. Patients note the following unpleasant symptoms:
- drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, depressive states;
- lowering blood pressure;
- nausea, vomiting, problems with defecation;
- increased sweating, skin rash;
- erectile dysfunction (rare).

Direct contraindications "Baklosan" is a hypersensitivity to baclofen and lactose intolerance, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not prescribe the drug and in the following diseases:

- stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer;
- chronic renal failure.
