How to treat flux

You will need
  • - sage;
  • - St. John's wort;
  • - Oak bark.
Flux is a disease that is treated exclusively in a dental office. At home, you can only alleviate the condition and reduce swelling, but only a specialist can cope with the infection.
In the absence of an abscess, a specialist may recommend anti-inflammatory treatment or antibiotic therapy. In combination with painkillers such treatment gives a good result in the early stages of odontogenic periostitis. But the choice in favor of a conservative decision should be made only by the dentist after the examination, since everything depends on the condition of the tooth root and some other factors.
Purulent form of periostitis requires surgical intervention. The doctor must remove the abscess and carry out an antiseptic treatment of the inflamed area. To do this, he will make an incision near the patient's tooth, after which the pus will come out. So that the wound does not heal, and the inflamed area is completely clean of pus, the dentist will put a drainage (rubber band).After the treatment will receive antibiotics. If there are no complications, the edema will completely subside in 2-3 days.
Traditional medicine is powerless in the treatment of flux, but it can help get rid of pain. Mix St. John's wort, sage and oak bark in equal proportions and brew 2 tablespoons of the collection in 300 grams of boiling water. Rinse your mouth every hour and a half, and in case of severe pain in the intervals between rinses, apply a cotton wool dipped in an infusion to a sore tooth.
Remember that various dressings on a sick cheek, as well as warming compresses are absolutely contraindicated! Heat can cause the spread of pus, and in some cases it can be deadly;
Most painkillers have a negative effect on blood coagulation, therefore, in order to avoid bleeding in the postoperative period, strictly follow the dosage of drugs prescribed by the doctor.
