How to warm a cold veranda from the inside

The choice of material for warming the porch from the inside

When planning to insulate a cold veranda from the inside, it should be understood that these will be large-scale works. It will be necessary to warm not only the walls, but also the floor and the roof. That is, a lot of materials will be required. In this regard, it is necessary to determine the type of insulation in order to roughly calculate the estimate.

For warming cold terraces, mineral wool, extruded polystyrene foam, polyurethane foam or rezol foam are used. The last two options are much more expensive, and therefore for private construction and repair almost never used. The highest demand are polystyrene foam and mineral wool. Both of these options do not cause allergies, easy to install and have good thermal insulation properties. But expanded polystyrene during combustion emits toxic substances, which is its significant disadvantage. However, this circumstance is more than offset by its low cost, and therefore it occupies the first position in the list of heaters.

It is especially effective to do it yourself if you use penofol in addition to mineral wool or expanded polystyrene. This is a rolled material, which is a layer of foamed polyethylene, covered on one side with dense foil. It keeps heat well inside the premises and does not let the cold in them.

The process of warming the cold veranda from the inside

Thermal insulation of walls and roof slopes is the first step in the thermal insulation process. A vapor barrier film is laid on the surface and is fixed on top of the crate, in the cells of which the selected insulation is placed. To fix the insulation need dowels, "fungi", if you choose expanded polystyrene, or the installation cord, if preference is given to mineral wool.

Warming the floor is different. First, lags treated with preparations of fire-bioprotection are laid on the surface. This will protect the tree from bugs and mold fungus, which can be formed if the ground water lies next to it. Then, as an additional drainage, a layer of expanded clay can be filled in, on which the insulating material is placed, and only after that the vapor barrier is installed.

In conclusion, it is necessary to resolve the issue with the windows, if this issue is acute. It has been proved that in terms of heat conservation, metal-plastic constructions are the most effective.

At the end of the work, you can proceed to the interior decoration. The crate on the walls and the ceiling of the veranda is covered with sheets of plasterboard or plywood, for the floor it is more rational to use OSB-plates - they are able to withstand a considerable load and are more loyal to moisture than other materials of this type.
